Play Dangerous Dave In the Haunted Mansion Online

Dodge floating eyeballs, blast zombies off ledges, and try not to waste shotgun shells on ghosts—Dave’s got a mansion full of horror clichés to survive. Watch out for those instant-death spikes while you’re grabbing diamonds, because this place plays rough.

Game Overview

Dangerous Dave in the Haunted Mansion came out in 1991 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series from Softdisk Publishing. It was one of those side-scrolling platformers that felt right at home on early PCs, built on John Romero's engine and offering a straightforward but tense adventure through a spooky setting.

You control Dave, a small character armed with a shotgun, and your goal is to collect all the diamonds scattered across each room while avoiding monsters and traps. The game moves screen by screen, with locked doors that only open once you clear a level of treasures. You shoot zombies and floating eyes, but ghosts take multiple hits and drain your limited ammo if you are not careful. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is unforgiving; spikes and bottomless pits mean instant death, so every jump and shot counts. It feels tense and deliberate, like each screen is a puzzle you have to survive rather than just rush through.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
