You wake up with an alien in your skull, then shuffle between a normal town and its Giger-designed hellscape version, praying the puzzles don’t break before you solve them.

Dark Seed came out in 1992 from Cyberdreams, a company that put out some of the more unusual MS-DOS titles of that era. It was a point and click adventure, but it stood out immediately because of its visual style, which was based on the biomechanical artwork of H.R. Giger. The game didn't try to be a cheerful fantasy; it was a psychological horror story from the start.
You control Mike Dawson, a writer who moves into a new house and soon discovers an alien parasite has been implanted in his brain. The main objective is to remove it before it kills you in three in-game days. The gameplay is built on screen by screen exploration, collecting items, and solving logic puzzles that often require careful timing. You constantly shift between the normal world and a dark, twisted alternate reality. The pacing is tense because a real-time clock is always counting down, and the puzzles can be unforgiving, sometimes feeling more obtuse than clever. It feels like a race against your own confusion, where every wrong move brings a gruesome death closer.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
