Play Demons Crest Online
You play as Firebrand the gargoyle, switching between demon forms to explore a gothic world dripping with eerie colors—dying a lot never felt this atmospheric.

Demons Crest is one of those SNES games that sticks with you—not just because it's hard (and it is hard), but because it oozes this gothic, almost melancholy vibe. You play as Firebrand, that red gargoyle from Ghosts 'n Goblins, except here he's got way more personality. The first thing you'll notice? The art. Everything's drenched in deep purples and sickly greens, like you're wandering through some cursed cathedral.
What surprised me was how much it plays like a dark, demonic Metroid. You don’t just bash through enemies—you unlock different forms (that harpy one saved my skin so many times) to backtrack and uncover secrets. The music’s all haunting organs and distant whispers, which somehow makes dying over and over feel… poetic? It’s weirdly beautiful for a game about a fire-breathing monster.
Fair warning: it’ll kick your butt at first. But once you get the hang of switching forms mid-air and hunting down those hidden crests, it clicks. Still one of the coolest, moodiest games on the SNES.
