Demons Winter came out in 1988 from SSI, a developer known for its deep role-playing games on MS-DOS. It was part of that era where games expected you to read the manual and figure things out for yourself, with graphics that were functional but not flashy. You knew what you were getting into; it was a serious, no-frills adventure.

You control a party of up to six characters, each with distinct classes and skills, navigating the world screen by screen. The main goal is to stop an ancient evil from plunging the world into eternal winter, which involves a lot of dungeon delving, tough turn-based combat, and careful management of your limited resources. Spells and healing items are scarce, so every encounter feels consequential, and the game's difficulty is unforgiving, demanding strategic thinking in both exploration and fights. It feels like a constant, tense struggle for survival where a single mistake can wipe out hours of progress.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
