Die Hard for the NES came out in 1992, developed by Pack-In-Video. It was one of many movie tie-ins on the system, trying to capture the action of the film within the technical limits of the console. You play as John McClane, navigating Nakatomi Plaza to rescue hostages and stop the terrorists.
You move room to room in a top-down view, shooting enemies with a limited supply of bullets. The main goal is to clear each floor of hostiles, find keycards to access new areas, and eventually confront the leader. Ammo management is critical; you often run low and must rely on melee attacks or careful aim. The pacing is tense, with enemies respawning if you leave and return to a screen. It feels scrappy and unpredictable, like you're barely staying ahead of the chaos.
