Play Die Hard (Japan) Online
Play as McClane clearing floors in a janky top-down shooter—enemies pop out of nowhere, but blasting terrorists with that chunky pistol just clicks. The 8-bit music nails the movie’s tension, weirdly.

Die Hard on the NES came out in 1990, developed by Pack-In-Video. It was one of many movie tie-ins from that era, a time when licensed games often tried to capture the spirit of their source material with the limited hardware available. This one stood out for its approach, even if it didn't always get everything right.
You control John McClane, moving floor by floor through Nakatomi Plaza to rescue hostages. The gameplay is a methodical, top-down shooter where you clear rooms of terrorists, manage limited ammo, and avoid harming civilians. Enemies spawn unpredictably, often from off-screen, which keeps you alert. The pacing is deliberate, sometimes slow, and the difficulty can spike without much warning. It feels tense and a little clunky, but landing a shot and hearing that satisfying sound effect makes it worthwhile.
