Game Overview

Digimon Story Sunburst (or Navarac, if you're going by the Japanese title) is one of those DS RPGs that somehow makes grinding for monster evolutions weirdly satisfying. You start off with a basic Digimon—mine was a little Agumon—and then spend way too much time in the digital world trying to level it up into something cooler. The battles are turn-based but quick, and there’s a surprising amount of strategy in figuring out which Digimon types counter others.

The best part? The roster’s huge. You’ll run into classics like Gabumon and weird deep cuts I’d never even heard of before. The translation’s a bit rough since it’s the Japanese version, but if you’ve played a Digimon game before, you’ll pick it up fast. Just don’t blame me when you lose an hour trying to get that one evolution you really want.
