Discworld came out in 1995 for MS-DOS, developed by Perfect 10 Productions. It was a point-and-click adventure set in Terry Pratchett's bizarre fantasy city, arriving during a time when CD-ROMs were letting games get much more talkative and visually dense. You spend a lot of time just listening to characters and soaking in the strange atmosphere.
You control Rincewind, a wizard with no actual talent for magic, who is tasked with stopping a dragon from destroying the city. The gameplay involves exploring the city screen by screen, collecting items, and talking to a huge cast of characters to solve logic puzzles. The humor, largely delivered through Eric Idle's voice work, is constant, but the puzzles themselves are famously obscure and can bring progress to a complete halt. It feels like being lost in a very funny, very confusing book where you have to do all the work.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
