Discworld II: Mortality Bytes! came out in 1996 for MS-DOS, developed by Perfect Entertainment and published by Psygnosis. It was part of that wave of point-and-click adventures that thrived on PCs in the mid-90s, built around Terry Pratchett's absurd fantasy world. The game doesn't try to reinvent the genre, but it fully embraces the source material's humor and peculiar logic.
You play as the inept wizard Rincewind, navigating a disjointed afterlife after Death goes missing. Your goal is to restore order by solving puzzles, talking to odd characters, and collecting items in a world where nothing works as expected. The gameplay hinges on screen-by-screen exploration, dialogue-based challenges, and using inventory objects in unconventional ways. Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
