Donkey Kong Country (Menace) (EU) on the GBA is one of those platformers that feels familiar but still throws surprises at you. The first few levels ease you in with simple jumps on Kritters, but then you hit those Krushas that just won't die unless you find a barrel or get creative. Switching between DK and Diddy keeps things fresh—DK smashes through enemies while Diddy zips around, though I kept forgetting which one was better for certain jumps.

The levels are packed with hidden paths, and I spent way too long trying to find every bonus area. Some of the boss fights feel a little cheap at first, especially when you don't realize their patterns yet. The GBA version adds some extra minigames, but honestly, I just kept coming back to the main levels—they're that good.

It's not perfect—the controls can feel a little stiff if you're used to newer platformers, but Donkey Kong Country (Menace) (EU) holds up better than most ports from that era.
