Doom Troopers came out for the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Adrenalin Interactive. It was part of that wave of mid-90s action games that tried to push the hardware with fast, violent gameplay, fitting right in with the console's library of intense side-scrollers and shooters.
You control one of two commandos, each with their own weapon loadout, and your goal is to fight through screen after screen of mutants and zombies to complete mission objectives. The game uses a screen-by-screen exploration system where enemies pour in from all sides, and your main tools are a rapid-fire gun and a limited supply of powerful grenades. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty can be punishing, demanding quick reflexes and careful ammo management. It feels like a constant, chaotic struggle for survival where every cleared room brings a short moment of relief before the next wave hits.
