Dragon Ball GT: Transformation came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2005, developed by Webfoot Technologies. It was one of those side-scrolling action games that felt right at home on the GBA, with its straightforward approach and bright, chunky sprites that held up well on the small screen. The game draws from the early GT story arc, sending Goku and friends out into space to track down the Black Star Dragon Balls before the Earth is destroyed.

You control Goku, Pan, and Trunks, switching between them on the fly when one gets tired or low on health. The main goal is to fight through levels packed with robots and aliens, find keys to open doors, and defeat bosses to collect Dragon Balls. Signature mechanics include charging up energy for screen-clearing special attacks and transforming into Super Saiyan forms for a temporary power boost. The pacing is brisk, and some later stages can get pretty tough with enemy swarms and tricky platforming. It feels satisfying to land combos and unleash those big energy blasts when you’ve built up enough juice.
