Play Dragon Ball Z - Super Saiya Densetsu (Japan) (Rev 1) [En by Saiya v0.99Final] (~Dragon Ball Z - Legend of the Saiyans) Online

Dragon Ball Z as a tactical card battler—pick attacks or blocks from a random hand while managing energy for those big Kamehameha moments. Weirdly satisfying once the janky card system clicks.

Game Overview

Dragon Ball Z: Super Saiya Densetsu is this weird little SNES RPG that never left Japan—which is a shame, because it’s actually kind of fascinating. Instead of the usual button-mashing DBZ fights, battles play out with this card system where you pick attacks, blocks, or special moves from a hand of randomly drawn cards. Feels more strategic than you’d expect from a Dragon Ball game.

You start off as Goku (obviously), but later get to swap between the whole Z crew—Vegeta’s in here too, though he’s still a jerk at this point in the story. The translation patch helps, but honestly, half the fun is just seeing how they turned early DBZ arcs into turn-based fights. Energy blasts cost cards, transformations take setup… it’s janky, but in a way that makes you want to figure it out.

Still the only proper DBZ RPG out there, and honestly? It holds up better than it should.
