DragonStrike on MS-DOS is one of those weird, wonderful games that shouldn’t work but totally does—you’re literally a dragon rider in the Dragonlance universe, swooping around burning ships and clashing with other dragons mid-air. The first mission throws you straight into the chaos: you’ll fumble with the controls (because let’s be honest, flying a dragon feels nothing like an F-16), but once you get the hang of banking and breathing fire, it’s absurdly satisfying.

What surprised me was how much it feels like an RPG—you earn better gear, tougher scales, even upgrade to fancier dragons if you survive enough missions. The later dogfights get properly intense, especially when you’re dodging ballista bolts while trying to roast an enemy wyrm. Just don’t expect fancy graphics; this is pure ’90s pixelated dragon mayhem, complete with screechy MIDI trumpets during battles.

If you ever wanted to live out that childhood fantasy of being a dragon-riding knight, this is probably the closest you’ll get without a time machine.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
