Game Overview

Drake Snake and the Secret Crypt was part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, though it never received a numbered release. Developed by a small team whose name hasn't stuck in memory, it was one of those many exploratory titles that filled shareware catalogs in the early 90s. You controlled a snake, Drake, tasked with navigating a sprawling, trap-filled crypt. The objective was straightforward: find the exit on each floor while avoiding death and collecting keys to progress deeper.

Movement was turn-based, screen by screen, letting you plan each slither carefully. You'd push blocks to trigger pressure plates, avoid dart traps and bottomless pits, and sometimes use collected orbs to disable magical barriers or detonate obstacles. The pacing was deliberate, almost puzzle-like, and the difficulty could spike without much warning. It feels tense and methodical, like a slow dance with danger where one wrong move unravels everything.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
