Dune on the Amiga is this weird, wonderful mix of strategy and adventure that somehow makes harvesting spice feel tense and exciting. You play as Paul Atreides, dumped on this brutal desert planet where giant sandworms lurk under every dune. At first, it's all about convincing the Fremen to work with you—they're skeptical, and honestly, who can blame them? You'll send out harvesters (until a worm inevitably swallows one), trade with shady smugglers, and try not to piss off the Emperor.

But the Harkonnens are always lurking up north, waiting to wreck everything. You’ll train Fremen fighters with Gurney Halleck, but only after proving yourself—no one follows some off-world kid for free. The deeper you get, the more Paul’s visions kick in, and suddenly you’re juggling politics, ecology, and the occasional prophetic dream. The characters from the books show up, each with their own agendas, and Liet Kynes keeps dropping hints about changing the planet itself.

It’s slow at first, but once the pieces click, you’re hooked—balancing spice runs, worm attacks, and outright war while trying not to go broke. The atmosphere is thick with that same eerie vibe from Lynch’s movie, all washed-out deserts and looming danger. Just don’t get too attached to your harvesters.
