Play Earthworm Jim 2 (Beta) Online

You're still Jim—that worm in a robo-suit—but now you're bouncing cows, whipping enemies with your own head, and stumbling through pitch-black levels as a blind salamander. The beta's a little janky, but that weird floaty movement eventually feels right.

Game Overview

Earthworm Jim 2 came out on the Super Nintendo in 1995, developed by Shiny Entertainment. It arrived late in the SNES lifecycle, a time when developers were really pushing the hardware with detailed sprites and complex animation. The game didn't take itself too seriously, which was a nice change of pace from the more straightforward platformers of the era.

You control Jim, an earthworm in a powerful robotic suit, and your goal is to rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from various absurd threats. You run, jump, and shoot your way through levels, but the real fun comes from the bizarre mechanics. You use your own head as a whip to attack enemies or swing across gaps, and in one stage you pilot a rocket through a tunnel filled with obstacles. The pacing is frantic, and some sections demand precise timing, especially when the screen auto-scrolls. It feels chaotic and unpredictable, but landing a perfect head-whip on a flying enemy is deeply satisfying.
