Game Overview

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem is one of those games that sticks with you—not just because of its story, but because it messes with your head in ways no other game really does. You jump between 12 different characters across 2,000 years of history, from a Roman centurion to a modern-day journalist, all fighting against the same ancient evil. The settings are incredible—one minute you're in a Persian temple, the next you're creeping through a gothic mansion in Rhode Island.

Combat's straightforward but tense, with weapons fitting each era (swords, muskets, shotguns—whatever gets the job done). The real twist is the sanity system. When monsters spot you, your character starts losing it, and the game gaslights you. The screen tilts weirdly, fake error messages pop up, statues turn to stare at you—it’s genius. You can recover sanity by finishing off enemies or using magic, which is its own puzzle since you have to piece together runes like some occult mad scientist.

It’s not just jump scares—it’s psychological horror that makes you question what’s real. Even the save screen isn’t safe. If you like horror that gets under your skin, this is a cult classic for a reason.
