Excitebike (EU) is one of those NES racers that feels simple at first—just a motocross bike, some ramps, and a timer. But the physics have this weird weight to them, like your bike is always fighting to stay upright after jumps. Mess up a landing and you'll eat dirt while the AI riders breeze past.
The track editor is where it gets interesting. You can slap together ridiculous courses with huge jumps back-to-back, but the game actually punishes you for going overboard—your bike overheats if you push too hard. It's a strange mix of arcade fun and this almost-simulation feel.
Still holds up if you're into old-school racing games, though the lack of music during races makes the engine noise grind after a while.
