You start Eye of the Beholder with a party of four adventurers—fighter, mage, cleric, thief—just like old-school D&D. The second you step into those sewers under Waterdeep, the ceiling caves in behind you. No turning back now. Just dark tunnels, weird noises, and the occasional skeleton lunging at you in real-time combat.

The first-person view makes every corner feel claustrophobic, and the interface is surprisingly smooth for an Amiga game. Click to swing your sword, drag spells from your book, or poke at suspicious walls. Half the time, you’re fumbling through your inventory mid-fight because that ogre wasn’t on the map a second ago.

It nails that classic dungeon crawl vibe—secret doors, pressure plates that probably trigger something awful, and NPCs who join your party only to immediately walk into a fire trap. If you’ve played Dungeon Master, it’ll feel familiar, but with that AD&D flavor. Just don’t expect your cleric to survive the first dragon encounter.
