Faces …tris III came out in 1990 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, published by Spectrum Holobyte. It was one of those oddball puzzle games that showed up in the early days of PC gaming, when developers experimented with strange concepts just to see what would stick.
You control a cursor that rotates falling facial features—eyes, noses, mouths—trying to align them into complete, often bizarre, celebrity faces before they stack too high. The main goal is to clear rows by finishing faces, all while the music shifts from relaxed to intensely fast as the pace picks up. Two-player mode turns the whole thing into a delightful mess, especially when you sabotage your opponent’s attempts to complete a face. It feels both absurd and weirdly satisfying when everything clicks into place.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
