Play Family Feud on Msdos Online
Shout answers at a pixelated survey, slam the spacebar to buzz in first, and laugh at how "microwave oven" was peak '90s tech. That jingle when you're wrong still haunts me.
Family Feud on MS-DOS came out in 1987 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Softie, Inc. It was one of those straightforward adaptations that showed up on home computers when people wanted to play along with TV game shows without the commercials. The graphics were simple, the colors were basic, and it ran on hardware that seems ancient now, but it captured the show's energy in a way that felt right for the platform.
You control a contestant trying to guess the most popular survey answers. The main goal is to beat the other family by scoring points through accurate guesses before running out of strikes. Signature mechanics include buzzing in by hitting the spacebar when a question appears, then typing answers quickly before time runs out. The pacing is fast, especially in later rounds, and the difficulty comes from trying to think like a hundred surveyed people rather than just yourself. It feels like a race against both the clock and your own assumptions.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
