Play Fighter's History (Japan) Online
Fighter’s History is that SNES fighter where you throw janky fireballs as a clown or a dude in a bulldozer, missing half your punches while the announcer badly mimics Street Fighter. It’s so shameless it’s almost lovable.
Fighter's History came out for the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Data East. It was one of many fighting games trying to grab some attention during the genre's peak, and it stood out mostly for how closely it mirrored the look and feel of more popular titles at the time.
You pick from a roster of fighters, each with their own special moves, and work your way through a series of one-on-one matches. The main goal is to defeat every opponent and become the champion. Two mechanics it used were weak point targeting, where hitting certain spots on an opponent could stun them, and a simple combo system. The pacing is a bit slow, and the controls can feel unresponsive compared to other fighters. It feels like playing a rough draft of a much better game.
