Fighter's History (Rev A) came out on the Super Nintendo in 1994, developed and published by Data East. It was one of many fighting games trying to grab attention during the genre's peak on the SNES, but it never quite shook the feeling of being a budget alternative to the bigger names.
You choose a fighter from a small roster of characters, each with their own special moves, and battle through a series of one-on-one matches. The main goal is to defeat every opponent and become the champion. Two mechanics stand out: the weak point system, where repeatedly hitting certain spots on an opponent stuns them, and the ability to break an opponent's armor after enough damage. Matches can feel stiff and a bit slow compared to other fighters of the time, with some awkward hit detection. It's a game that feels functional but lacks the polish or excitement of its contemporaries.
