Game Overview

Fisher Price: Firehouse Rescue came out in 1992 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games collection, developed by Humongous Entertainment. It was one of those early educational titles that felt more like a proper game than a lesson, designed for kids but with a surprising amount of structure. The graphics were simple, colorful, and blocky, fitting right in with the PC games of that era.

You control a little firefighter who moves screen by screen through the station to collect gear like a helmet and hose before hopping into the truck. The main goal is to respond to fires by aiming and spraying water at the flames until they're out, all while a timer counts down. The pacing is steady, not too hard for a young player, but the siren and the urgency make it feel important. It feels like being given a small, serious job to do.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
