Game Overview

Galaxy Fight came out for the Amiga in 1987, developed by Rainbow Arts. It was one of those early shoot 'em ups that tried to push the hardware a bit, with colorful backdrops and a decent soundtrack. You saw a lot of space shooters back then, but this one had a certain charm with its varied level design and enemy patterns.

You pilot a small starfighter, moving it freely around the screen to blast waves of alien ships and avoid their fire. The main goal is to survive through each stage, clearing the screen of enemies before moving on to the next area. Key mechanics include collecting power-ups that change your weapon, like spreading shots or lasers, and facing large boss ships at the end of certain levels. The pacing is relentless; enemies pour in from all sides, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and careful positioning. It feels tense and satisfying when you weave through a dense spray of bullets and take down a tough opponent.
