Game Overview

Ganbare Goemon 3 is the kind of game where you start off thinking, "Okay, this is just a goofy feudal Japan adventure," and then five minutes in, you're fighting a disco-themed villain on a giant robot. It's pure, unhinged SNES energy—like someone took a history textbook, threw it in a blender with a bunch of anime tropes, and cranked the dial to "maximum chaos."

You pick between Goemon, Ebisumaru, or a couple of other weirdos (my personal favorite is the ninja who fights with a giant ladle), and the game lets you swap between them whenever you want. Need to hit a high ledge? Switch to the guy who can double jump. Stuck in a fight? The pipe-wielding maniac has your back. And just when you think it can't get any weirder, you hop into a skyscraper-sized mech to punch a dragon in the face.

The humor is aggressively silly—imagine bad puns, tofu-based martial arts, and a soundtrack that flips between shamisen and what sounds like a '70s cop show. It's not just a game; it's a vibe. If you ever wondered what would happen if a Saturday morning cartoon got turned into a side-scroller, here's your answer.
