Game Overview

Ganbare Goemon - Mononoke Sugoroku is one of those weird, wonderful N64 games that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s basically a chaotic board game where Goemon and friends roll dice, brawl with yokai, and occasionally break into mini-games. The board itself is packed with little details, like shops where you can buy ridiculous power-ups or cursed spaces that turn you into a frog for a turn.

At first, it feels like Mario Party’s weird cousin, but then you realize there’s actual strategy—like hoarding coins to buy the best items or sabotaging opponents when they least expect it. The multiplayer mode is where it really shines, especially when someone lands on a trap and the whole table erupts in groans. Graphics are classic Goemon: bright, silly, and full of personality.

If you’ve ever wanted to see a ninja and a kappa race across a haunted game board while throwing fireworks at each other, this is your game.
