Game Overview

Get in the Hole (Japan) is one of those SNES golf games that somehow feels both ridiculous and weirdly satisfying. It’s got that classic 16-bit charm—bright colors, goofy sound effects, and courses that look like they were designed by someone who thought golf needed more windmills and loop-de-loops.

At first, I figured it’d be another basic arcade golf clone, but the controls actually have some weight to them. You’ll whiff a few shots early on, especially when the wind kicks in, but once you get the timing down, sinking a long putt feels way more rewarding than it should. And yeah, the physics are a little exaggerated—your ball might bounce off a tree and land in a sand trap three fairways over—but that’s half the fun.

If you’ve played NES Open Tournament or Mario Golf, you’ll recognize the vibe, but this one’s got its own weird personality. Just don’t expect realism—expect to laugh when your ball ricochets off a cartoon cactus. Still weirdly addictive, though.
