Play Ghostbusters (World) (v1.1) Online

You jump around as tiny Ghostbusters with comically small legs, blasting ghosts that pop out of walls while dodging flying furniture—controls are janky but the pixel art has charm. That proton pack takes practice to aim, but nailing a diagonal shot just feels right.

Game Overview

Ghostbusters on the Genesis is one of those weirdly charming platformers that feels like it was made by someone who only half-remembered the movies. You control these stubby little Ghostbusters (seriously, they look like they skipped leg day) jumping through haunted hotels and museums, blasting ghosts with the proton pack. The controls are a little stiff, but there's something fun about the chunky pixel art and how ghosts just kinda... pop out of nowhere.

First level drops you right into it—you're hopping over gaps, dodging floating chairs, and trying not to get wrecked by those green slime blobs. The proton pack aiming takes some getting used to, but once you figure out the diagonal shots, it clicks. Also, the music? Weirdly catchy for how short the loops are.

It's not the deepest game, but if you're into '90s platformers with janky charm, it's a solid time. Just don't expect the movie experience.
