Game Overview

Golgo 13 on NES was this weird, ambitious mix of genres that somehow worked. You'd start with a side-scrolling sniper mission, then suddenly dive into these clunky-but-cool first-person dungeon sections where you're sneaking through bases. And yeah, there were even these awkward top-down driving bits where the controls felt like steering a boat.

For an NES game, it had this oddly mature vibe—your character smoked cigarettes to recover health, and the story actually tried to be serious. The sniper mechanics were surprisingly satisfying once you got the hang of them. Just don't expect it to hold up like modern games—this was 1988 trying to do everything at once.

Still, there's something charming about its janky ambition.
