Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on the DS is way more fun than it has any right to be. The top-down view takes some getting used to if you're coming from the 3D GTAs, but after a few minutes of dodging cops and dealing drugs (yeah, that's actually a mechanic), it clicks. The touchscreen stuff—hotwiring cars by rubbing the stylus, flicking molotovs—feels surprisingly natural.
What surprised me was how much depth there is. You're not just running missions—you're managing this whole underground empire, buying low, selling high, and trying not to get busted. The writing's sharp too, full of that classic GTA dark humor. And somehow, it all runs smoothly on a DS cart.
If you missed this one back in the day, it's still one of the best ways to play GTA on the go.
