Game Overview
Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars on PSP drops you into Liberty City as Huang Lee, a Triad member with a serious grudge. After getting ambushed, robbed, and left for dead, you’re out to reclaim your family’s stolen sword—and maybe dish out some payback along the way. The top-down view feels like a throwback to classic GTA, but with slick cel-shaded graphics that give everything a gritty comic book vibe.
You’ll do the usual GTA stuff—carjack rides, take on missions, dodge cops—but the drug trading mini-game is weirdly addictive. Buy low, sell high, and pray the cops don’t bust you mid-deal. One wrong move and you’re sprinting down an alley with a trunk full of heroin and three stars on your head. The PDA keeps you updated on which dealers are desperate to buy or sell, turning Liberty City into your own chaotic stock market.
Police chases work differently here—instead of just outrunning them, you can actually wreck pursuing cop cars to shake them off. No Pay 'n Spray? No problem. Smash enough cruisers, and your wanted level drops. The PSP version adds extra missions and radio stations, though you’ll miss the DS’s touchscreen gimmicks like hotwiring cars with a stylus. Still, it’s a solid port with all the chaos you’d expect from a GTA game.
