Game Overview

Ever wanted to raid an ancient Egyptian tomb but without the actual risk of curses? Hamunaptra on the Game Boy Color nails that vibe—it’s like someone took The Mummy, shrunk it down to pocket size, and tossed in some Zelda-style puzzles. You’ll poke around crumbling ruins, push suspicious-looking blocks (they’re always hiding something), and occasionally panic when a mummy lurches out of the shadows.

The pixel art somehow makes deserts and dusty corridors feel weirdly cozy, and the puzzles are just tricky enough to make you feel smart without needing a walkthrough. There’s even a little RPG flavor—nothing too deep, but you’ll scavenge gear and upgrades between dodging traps. It never got an English release, which is a shame, because it’s way more fun than most GBC games that did. Just don’t blame me when you start side-eyeing your closet at 2 AM after a long play session.
