Harobots Action!! came out for the Nintendo DS in 2006, developed by Banpresto. It was part of that wave of early DS games that really tried to make use of the touch screen in a meaningful way, even if the results weren't always polished. You don't see many people talk about it now, but it had a certain charm if you were into mecha games and didn't mind something a little rough around the edges.

You control a heavy, somewhat clunky robot, using the stylus to move, attack, and execute special maneuvers. The main goal is to clear each stage of enemies, which involves a mix of close quarters brawling and dodging projectiles from snipers. Different enemy types force you to switch tactics on the fly; some rush you while others hang back, so positioning and timing your attacks become crucial. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, because your robot isn't agile, and mistakes are costly. It feels satisfying to land a solid combo once you get the hang of the controls, even if the overall experience is a bit janky.
