Heimdall_Disk2 is one of those classic Amiga games that throws you straight into Norse mythology chaos. You play as Heimdall—yeah, the guy who’s supposed to guard Asgard—except now you’ve been stripped of godhood right when everything’s going to hell. Loki’s hidden Thor’s hammer, Odin’s sword, and Frey’s spear across three massive realms, and of course, it’s your job to get them back.

First things first: you’ve got to prove you’re not completely useless. The game starts with three mini-games that decide your stats and how many warriors you can recruit. There’s axe throwing (aim for the barmaid’s pigtails, not her face—good luck with the wobbly drunk cursor), pig chasing (slippery little things), and a brutal longboat brawl where everyone’s trying to toss you overboard. Mess these up, and you’ll be stuck with a weaker party later.

After that, it’s all exploration and combat in this weirdly charming isometric world. You’ll hop between islands, solve puzzles, and fight monsters in a style that feels a bit like Cadaver if you’ve played that. The levels are packed with secrets, and some of the puzzles actually make you think. Just don’t expect mercy—this is an old-school game where stumbling into the wrong room can wreck you.

It’s clunky in that nostalgic Amiga way, but there’s something satisfying about piecing together where Loki stashed everything before Ragnarok kicks off.
