Home Alone Disk1 came out in 1991 for the Amiga, developed by Capstone Software. It was one of those early movie tie-ins that tried to capture the fun of the film, back when platformers and action games dominated home computers. You get to step into Kevin McCallister's shoes, defending his house from the Wet Bandits just like in the movie, but with all the limitations and charm of early 90s game design.

You control Kevin directly, moving from room to room in a side scrolling view, setting up traps before the burglars arrive. The main goal is to survive each night by depleting the health of both Harry and Marv through clever trap placement and direct attacks with your trusty BB gun. Key mechanics include a preparation phase where you scout the house and set traps like marbles on the stairs or paint cans above doors, followed by an action phase where you evade the intruders and lure them into your setups. The pacing is tense; you have to think quickly and manage your limited resources while avoiding capture. It feels frantic and a little unforgiving, but pulling off a perfect trap chain brings a genuine sense of accomplishment.
