Game Overview

Home Alone 2 on MS-DOS is one of those weirdly ambitious movie tie-ins that somehow works. Yeah, it follows the film’s plot, but it goes off the rails in the best way—like, since when did Kevin McCallister have to dodge runaway vacuum cleaners in a hotel or fight a Master Chef boss? The NES version’s got that classic janky charm with sound effects ripped straight from early Simpsons games, while the SNES version tries (and kinda fails) to be more polished with its synth soundtrack but ends up feeling disjointed.

You start at the Plaza Hotel, scrambling through rooms while hotel staff and unhinged guests chase you—honestly, the luggage has it out for you more than the Wet Bandits at this point. Then it’s off to Central Park, where rats and thugs replace the usual holiday cheer. The real fun kicks in at your uncle’s townhouse, though. Setting up traps for Harry and Marv while hunting for hidden keys feels like Home Alone in its purest form, even if the rooftop escape gets a little ridiculous (pigeon lady MVP, honestly).

The Genesis version goes even wilder with eight levels, including an airport brawl and a cursed "land of lost luggage" where suitcases attack on sight. By the end, you’re swatting hornets in pipes and dodging icicles like it’s a survival horror game. It’s messy, chaotic, and weirdly satisfying when you finally reunite with Kevin’s mom by the Christmas tree. Not a masterpiece, but way more fun than it had any right to be.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
