Game Overview

Hook_Disk1 on the Amiga is one of those point-and-click adventures that feels like a lost cousin of Monkey Island—if Monkey Island had more flying kids and pirate revenge plots. You play as Peter Banning, who’s just your average dad until, surprise, he’s actually Peter Pan. When Hook kidnaps his kids, you’re dragged back to Neverland to relive the glory days (and solve a lot of puzzles along the way).

The interface is classic adventure game stuff: icons at the bottom let you poke around, pick up weird junk, or try to convince pirates you’re not completely out of your depth. Some of the item combinations make no sense until they suddenly do—like, why would you think to use that with that? But when it clicks, it’s satisfying. The art’s got that early ‘90s charm, all bright colors and exaggerated expressions, and the writing leans into the absurdity of being a grown-up Peter Pan stuck in Neverland again.

It’s not the hardest adventure game out there, but it’s got enough charm and pirate nonsense to keep you entertained. Just don’t expect Hook to go down without a fight.
