Game Overview

Inazuma Eleven is basically what happens when you mix soccer with a full-blown anime RPG. You play as Mark Evans, the overly enthusiastic goalkeeper of Raimon Junior High’s embarrassingly bad team—most of his teammates would rather slack off than play, and the school’s about to shut them down. Then Axel Blaze, this ridiculously talented transfer student, shows up and suddenly there’s hope. But of course, someone’s trying to sabotage them.

Outside matches, you’re running around in classic RPG style, talking to NPCs and recruiting new players. The actual soccer plays out in real-time with touch controls—you’ll swipe to move players, tap to pass, and when you clash with an opponent, the game pauses so you can pick a move. And these aren’t just normal kicks—we’re talking flaming dragon shots and tornado tackles, straight out of an anime battle.

Your team levels up like an RPG party, stats and all, and you can recruit hundreds of players to swap in. At first, I just stuck with the story characters, but halfway through I got obsessed with scouting random NPCs to build my dream team. The matches get wild once you unlock the really over-the-top special moves.

It’s soccer, but not like anything you’ve played before.
