Into the Eagle's Nest came out in 1986 for MS-DOS, published by Pandora Software. It was one of those early action games that felt ambitious for its time, trying to blend stealth and combat in a World War II setting. You don't see many games from that era attempting that kind of tension.
You control an Allied soldier infiltrating a Nazi fortress, armed only with a knife at the start. The goal is to navigate room by room, avoiding or eliminating guards, and eventually planting explosives to destroy the base. Key mechanics include screen-by-screen exploration, careful timing to dodge patrols, and collecting better weapons like a pistol or machine gun as you progress. The pacing is deliberate, almost methodical, because the enemies are lethal and resources are scarce. It feels tense and unforgiving, where every decision carries weight and a single misstep means starting over from the beginning.
Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
