Game Overview

Journey: The Quest Begins looks like an RPG at first glance—you’ve got a party of four, each with their own skills, wandering through a fantasy world in crisis. But don’t expect level-ups or turn-based battles. Instead, it’s all about solving puzzles by combining what your characters can do. Bergon the carpenter can build stuff, Praxix casts spells, Esher heals, and Tag… well, being a merchant comes in handy more often than you’d think.

The whole thing plays out through a slick multiple-choice interface—no typing commands like in old Infocom games. You’ll poke around villages, figure out how to fix broken bridges (Bergon’s time to shine), and occasionally argue with Praxix about whether magic is the answer to everything (it usually isn’t). The puzzles are clever without being cruel, and there’s something satisfying about finally getting the right combo of skills to unlock the next chunk of story. Just don’t expect your party to come back in one piece.
