Game Overview

Okay, so The Jungle Book on NES is way better than it has any right to be. You play as Mowgli, jumping through vines and tossing coconuts at monkeys—which sounds simple until you realize some of these jumps are brutal. The first level tricks you into thinking it’s just a cute Disney romp, but by the time you’re dodging Kaa’s coils or timing jumps over crocodiles, you’ll be muttering at the screen.

What’s cool is how it mixes things up—one minute you’re platforming, the next you’re bouncing on enemies like a trampoline. The music’s got that classic Disney charm, but Shere Khan’s boss fight? That’s where the game stops playing nice. If you grew up with Aladdin or Lion King on SNES, this one’s got the same vibe, just with more 8-bit frustration (in a good way).

Honestly, it’s one of those movie games that actually holds up—just don’t throw your controller when the monkeys steal your fruit.
