Game Overview

Man, The Jungle Book on SNES is way better than it had any right to be. You'd expect a cheap movie tie-in, but instead you get this surprisingly tight platformer where Mowgli actually feels fun to control—he's got this satisfying little hop when he jumps, and chucking coconuts at monkeys never gets old. The first level throws you right into the jungle, vines swinging everywhere, snakes dropping from trees, and the music's just pure 16-bit Disney magic.

What surprised me was how much variety they packed in. One minute you're bouncing on rhinos, the next you're dodging King Louie's goons in some temple ruins. And Shere Khan? Dude's an actual menace when he shows up. The difficulty's just right too—challenging enough to keep you on your toes, but never cheap. If you grew up with the movie or just love solid SNES platformers, this one's a hidden gem. That vine-swinging mechanic alone makes it worth playing.
