Jurassic Park (World) came out in 1993 for the arcades, and I usually play it through MAME these days. It was developed and published by Sega, a time when arcade cabinets were still king and games were built to eat your quarters. This one was a light gun shooter, the kind you stood in front of with a plastic rifle, and it was all about immersing you in the movie's chaos.

You control a park ranger trying to survive the dinosaur outbreak. The main objective is to blast your way through different areas, rescuing stranded scientists and fending off attacks. The signature mechanics are the on-rails movement, where the game controls your path, and the light gun targeting, which requires quick, accurate shots. The pacing is relentless; you're constantly swiveling to shoot Compsognathus from the grass, Velociraptors leaping from the trees, and the T-Rex when it inevitably crashes through a fence. It feels like a desperate, trigger-happy scramble from start to finish.
