Game Overview

King Arthur's World came out on the Super Nintendo in 1993, developed by Argonaut Games. It was part of that wave of puzzle games on the system that tried to do something a little different, a little more thoughtful than the action titles that were everywhere.

You don't control King Arthur directly; you command his knights, one by one, to dig through dirt, build bridges, and operate siege weapons to clear a path screen by screen. The main goal is to guide them all to the exit, which often means solving environmental puzzles and avoiding instant death traps. The signature mechanics are the direct, almost clumsy unit control and the physics based interactions, like using a catapult to launch a knight over a chasm. It's a slow, deliberate game that punishes haste, and playing it feels like carefully orchestrating a very silly, very dangerous construction project.
