Game Overview

Kingpin - Arcade Sports Bowling came out in 1995 as part of the MS-DOS Classic Games series, developed by Xatrix Entertainment. It was one of those games that felt right at home on a PC in the mid-90s, sitting alongside other straightforward arcade-style titles that didn't require a manual to enjoy. You'd load it up after school or work, and it was just there to kill some time without any fuss.

You control a bowler from an isometric view, aiming your shot and adjusting power and spin before sending the ball down one of several themed lanes. The main goal is simple: knock down all the pins, but the game throws in obstacles like moving targets, bumpers, and even explosive pins that change things up. The pacing is quick, with short matches that keep you hitting "play again," and the difficulty comes from mastering the timing of your release and reading the lane's tricks. It feels satisfying to finally get a handle on the spin and watch the ball curve perfectly into the pocket.

Each game uses different controls, most DOS games use the keyboard arrows. Some will use the mouse , "Alt" ,"Enter" and "Space bar".
