Kung Fu Panda on the Nintendo DS came out in 2008, published by Activision. It was one of those many licensed games that filled the shelves during the DS's peak, a straightforward action platformer based on the movie. You don't hear much about it now, but it was a solid enough distraction if you were a fan of the film.

You control Po, the panda, moving him through side-scrolling levels to fight off enemies like the wolf and rhino henchmen. The main goal is to progress through each stage, which involves a lot of basic punching and kicking combos executed with the face buttons. A couple of signature moves include a ground pound attack and a special rolling maneuver to break certain objects. The game also incorporates touch screen mini-games for specific actions, like swiping to deflect projectiles. The pacing is fairly quick, with levels that are short and not terribly difficult, making it accessible for younger players. It feels like a simple, lighthearted brawler that doesn't overstay its welcome.
