Play Kung Fu Panda 2 Online

Po belly-flops through waves of wolves, pulling off ridiculous Wuxi Finger Holds between victory wiggles—it's pure 16-bit chaos, especially with a friend mashing buttons beside you.

Game Overview

I picked up Kung Fu Panda 2 for the Sega Genesis, a game developed by Griptonite Games and published by THQ. It came out much later than the console's prime, a licensed title trying to find its place among the classics. You control Po, the panda, across a series of side-scrolling levels based on the movie's events.

You move through environments like Gongmen City, fighting wolf soldiers and other enemies with basic punches, kicks, and a clumsy but effective belly flop. The main goal is to advance screen by screen, defeating bosses to progress. You collect coins to unlock upgrades for your health and special moves, and there's a two-player mode where a friend can control one of the Furious Five. The pacing is straightforward, though some enemy patterns can feel cheap. It feels like a simple, repetitive brawler that relies heavily on the license for its appeal.
