Game Overview

Legend of Galahad is one of those old-school Sega Genesis platformers that feels like it should’ve been way more famous than it is. You play as Leander, a knight with a sword that’s way too big for him, slashing through castles, caves, and some seriously moody forests. The controls take a minute to get used to—your jumps feel a little floaty at first, but once you adjust, chaining attacks while hopping over spikes becomes weirdly satisfying.

What I love is how the levels mix straightforward platforming with these little puzzle-like sections where you’re flipping switches or dodging fireballs. The art’s got that gritty early ‘90s fantasy vibe, all muted greens and browns, with enemies that look like they crawled out of a medieval bestiary. Just don’t get too attached to your health bar—some of those boss fights are brutal.

It’s not perfect, but there’s something charming about how unapologetically tough it is. If you’re into obscure Genesis gems, this one’s worth a weekend.
